Your Volunteer Duties

Tapshoes and Tutus is a co-operative, where all parents work together to deliver reasonably priced dance training to children of all ages. In return, we ask you to help us run our MCCC Pizza Café on Saturday mornings and to participate in our many low-load committees. Meet parents in your community, watch your children develop their love of dance and have fun!

Committees are formed at the beginning of each session, but it's never too late!

Our committees include:
  • Cafe
  • Finance
  • Recital
  • Fundraising/Sponsorship
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Technical

Volunteer Pledge Fee - $90.00

As a co-op we require all families to commit to volunteering their time over the dance year.  The Tapshoes and Tutus Cafe operates at Masaryk Cowan Community Centre on Saturdays from 11am to 1 pm, from October to May. The Cafe is located on the 1st floor of the community centre. Turn left once you enter the building on the main floor.  It is mandatory for all families to sign-up for 2 shifts as one of the following:

Cafe Duty:  Making and serving pizzas to the Masaryk Cowan Community Centre on Saturday Mornings

Cupcake Fairy:  Baking and icing 24 cupcakes by 10:30 am Saturday mornings

Grocery Fairy:  Purchasing and delivering groceries to the cafe before 9:30 on Saturday mornings.

If you do not fulfill your 2 shifts, a deduction of $45/shift not fulfilled will be made to your $90.00 volunteer pledge. This volunteer Pledge carries to the next year and ensures your child will have a spot the following year.
